Homemade Peanut Butter
Nothing can beat homemade peanut butter! I like creamy peanut butter occasionally and have tried many brands including organic ones. Some of the store-bought peanut butters are too sweet or salty, many are oily and some rancid smelling.
I make mine with grated gula melaka (palm sugar) and sometimes with pure maple syrup. Don’t get me wrong – the sweetening agent is just to raise the taste profile of the peanut butter and not to sweeten it!
One important thing that is needed for making of peanut butter at home is a high-powered blender or food processor. This is so that your blender can grind through the nuts without overheating or stressing the motor.
Peanut butter can be incredibly healthy addition to your diet, and it is not limited to spreading on your toast or crackers. With peanut butter, you can make good dressing for salads, use it for making cookies and cakes and even make chocolate peanut butter! I would love to hear from you as to what you do with peanut butter.
