Vegetarian Bolognese Pizza
I was craving for a spicy pizza and spaghetti Bolognese whole of last week and just did not have the time to do anything about it. Today’s lunch is a Spicy Impossible Bolognese Pizza!
I added one boiled, peeled and smoothly mashed, russet potato to the basic pizza dough ingredients and kneaded them into a dough. The addition of potato gave a deliciously unique flavour to the pizza base and the time and effort taken to do this was worth it.
To make the Bolognese sauce, instead of adding minced meat, I added plant-based meat from @impossible_foods. Real meat lovers may snub their noses, but I must tell you that the people who ate the pizza with me could not tell if it was plant-based meat or beef. I added some chilli flakes and smoked paprika for that added kick and flavour.
After spreading the vegetarian Bolognese sauce on the pizza base, I topped with whatever I fancied or had in the refrigerator (including feta cheese and tomatoes and herbs) on the top of the pizza and baked it.
